Marble Cake

Marble Cake

Be the first to review!
There’s something quietly satisfying about slicing into a marble cake—the way the soft golden crumb swirls with deep ribbons of chocolate, never quite the same twice. It feels a little nostalgic, like something you’d find on a kitchen table in the afternoon, still slightly warm, waiting to be shared.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 1 tsp ovalette
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 3/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1 1/2 cup self-raising flour sifted
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

Method

  1. Beat the eggs, caster sugar, and ovalette at high speed for about 9 minutes, until fluffy and light.
  2. Add the condensed milk and mix gently.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and cooking oil. Stir gently until combined.
  4. Add the flour and stir with a wooden spoon.
  5. Divide the batter into two separate bowls.
  6. Sift the cocoa powder into one of the bowls and stir until combined.
  7. Line a baking pan with parchment paper. Spoon one scoop of the original color batter into the pan.
  8. Spoon the cocoa batter on top of the original color batter.
  9. Repeat layering the original color and cocoa batter until finished.
  10. Place a clean kitchen towel in the pot. Add the rack and water to the pot.
  11. Place the baking pan in the pot and cover.
  12. Set the button to 'STEAM'. Press 'STEAM' for 30 minutes, then press 'ON'.
  13. When the pot beeps, release the pressure. If there is no hissing sound, press 'OFF' and slowly open the pot lid. Cool the cake.
  14. Once cooled, you can serve it on the table. Now the Marble Cake is ready to eat.
