Caesar Salad

Caesar Salad Dressing

Be the first to review!
Creamy, tangy, and easy to whisk together, this Caesar Salad Dressing is a simple homemade version made with mayonnaise, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, mustard, herbs, and a touch of maple syrup. It has a smooth, rich texture with a bright lemony flavor and a gentle savory kick from the garlic, oregano, paprika, and black pepper. Serve it with crisp romaine, croutons, and parmesan, or use it as a quick dip for vegetables, wraps, or grilled chicken.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or more
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/3 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp sweet paprika
  • 3/4 to 1 tsp grain mustard
  • 2 to 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 to 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic

Equipment

  • 1 small bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 measuring spoon
  • 1 measuring cup

Method

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, oregano, paprika, whole grain mustard, lemon juice, olive oil, maple syrup, and minced garlic in a small bowl.
  2. Whisk everything together until smooth and well combined.
  3. Taste and adjust as needed. Add more lemon juice for extra tang, more mayonnaise for a creamier texture, or a little more maple syrup if you prefer a softer flavor.
  4. Let the dressing sit for 13 minutes before serving so the flavors can blend together.
  5. Toss with romaine lettuce, croutons, and parmesan cheese, or use it as a creamy dip for vegetables, wraps, or grilled chicken.

Notes

For the best flavor, make the dressing a little in advance and keep it chilled in the fridge. The garlic, lemon, mustard, and herbs taste even better once they have time to come together.
