Method
Make the Pizza Dough
- Add warm water and instant yeast to a large mixing bowl. Let it sit for a few minutes until slightly foamy.
- Add the sugar, salt, oil, and flour. Mix until a soft dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough in a stand mixer for about 10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 3 equal balls. Use 1 dough ball for this dessert pizza and save the remaining 2 for other pizzas.
Prepare the Apple Topping
- Preheat the oven to 350°F / 175°C. Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced apples and cinnamon.
- Cook for 6 minutes, or until the apples are slightly softened. Remove from heat and set aside.
Assemble the Dessert Pizza
- Roll out 1 dough ball into a round or rectangle, depending on your pan.
- Place the dough on the prepared pan and pre-bake for 7 minutes, or until the crust is just set but not fully browned.
- Spread the cooked cinnamon apples evenly over the crust.
Make the Crumble Topping
- In a bowl, combine the quick oats, brown sugar, flour, softened butter, and cinnamon.
- Mix with a fork or your fingertips until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple layer.
Bake and Glaze
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the crumble topping looks crisp.
- Let the dessert pizza cool for about 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add a little more milk if needed to thin the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm pizza. Slice and serve.

Notes
- For a softer, sweeter apple topping, cook the apples until tender before adding them to the crust.
- For a more textured bite, leave them slightly firm. The extra dough balls can be used for savory pizzas, another dessert pizza, or frozen for later.
