Ingredients
  

  • 500 ml full cream milk
  • 260 g all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp fine sugar
  • 4 tbsp corn oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method
 

Make the batter base
  1. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks with sugar.
  2. Add milk, corn oil, and vanilla essence, then mix well.
Mix dry ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
Combine
  1. Add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix until smooth.
Whip the egg whites
  1. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Fold gently
  1. Carefully fold the whipped egg whites into the batter to keep it light and airy.
Cook the waffles
  1. Preheat waffle maker for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Lightly grease with margarine.
  3. Pour in batter and wait 25 seconds before closing the lid.
  4. Cook for 6 minutes until golden and crispy.
Serve
  1. Serve hot with butter, chocolate spread, or your favorite toppings.

Notes

  1. Folding egg whites gently = fluffier waffles.
